The Sustainable Stone By Portugal Agenda, started in July 2022 and scheduled to end in June 2025, approved in measure C5 – Capitalization and Business Innovation, has a national scope, and will respond to the pillars of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). With an investment of over 55 million and an incentive of over 32 million, the consortium is committed to creating more jobs, more exports, more innovation, being increasingly environmentally friendly and combating waste, in a logic of cooperation and collaboration for Portugal’s competitiveness, in 36 months.
The Mineral Resources Cluster will be responsible for shared management with the Consortium Leader: SOLANCIS. It also participates in the following activities with ASSIMAGRA:
- STONE DIALOGUES: Collective international promotion campaign based on a communication plan for the sector’s national offering;
- ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT STUDY: Calculation of the sector’s Ecological Footprint and its comparison with the main competing products, building a digital algorithm to be inserted into the platform.
The Sustainable Stone by Portugal Agenda aims to enhance the relevant mobilizing and aggregating work that has been carried out in the context of the Natural Stone Sector, for the creation of a new generation of highly disruptive and innovative products and production processes, which strengthen the sector’s capacity to grow with an international bias, thus contributing to the growth and consolidation of the sector as strategic for the sustainable development of the Portuguese economy.
