RISE PROJECT PITCH SESSION

The 2nd day of the RISE Event, dedicated to the exclusive Pitch Session on Metals, Stone and Construction, took place at CCDR Alentejo, I.P., in the beautiful Alentejo city of Évora.Participants were challenged to split into groups and together come up with ingenious and innovative ideas on how to create a project, identifying challenges and opportunities, as part of the “Build a project: Identify challenges and business opportunities” workshop.Several organizations pitched their activities and projects.An excellent opportunity to meet other organizations, create synergies and possible collaborations!

3RD MEETING OF THE RISE CONSORTIUM “RESILIENT INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM FOR EU VALUE CHAINS” IN ÉVORA

On October 8th, the 3rd Meeting of the RISE Consortium “Resilient Innovation Ecosystem for EU Value Chains” took place at CCDR Alentejo, I.P., in Évora.The meeting brought together partners from 8 European countries, with the aim of analyzing the implementation of the project and planning the next actions to promote the development of the less developed regions of Portugal (Alentejo), Slovenia (Vzhodna Slovenija) and Bulgaria (Severozapaden), involving different entities from the quadruple-helix ecosystem.

ACPMR MEETS IN BEJA WITH PARTNERS OF THE REGIONAL VALUE CHAINS PLATFORM

The Consortium held the Launch Meeting of the Regional Supply Chains Platform (PlaCaPRe) on July 23rd in Beja, at the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja.The main points on the agenda were the presentation of the partners and their main activities, the presentation of PlaCaPRe, the setting up of the working groups and the discussion of the next steps.Under the coordination of Sines Tecnopolo and ACPMR, PlaCaPRe aims, in accordance with the Regional Strategy for Intelligent Specialization (EREI 2030), to promote the strengthening of regional production chains in the Alentejo, based on local resources and assets, as well as boosting the anchor effect around structuring projects and investments in the region.

II National Meeting of the Natural Stone Sector – StonebyPORTUGAL SUMMIT

On July 12th, the II National Meeting of the Natural Stone Sector – StonebyPORTUGAL SUMMIT took place, where Marta Peres, Executive Director of the Cluster Portugal Mineral Resources Association (ACPMR), participated in the panel dedicated to innovation and digital transition, promising to bring valuable insights and strategies for the future of the industry. This initiative, promoted by Assimagra – Resources Minerals of Portugal, focused on the debate and reflection on priority topics and challenges currently facing the natural stone industry.

ACPMR AND ISEP COLLABORATE IN PROMOTING THE MINERAL RESOURCES INDUSTRY

During the month of June, the “UNIVERSAR MINEAIS” initiative, from the Mineral Resources Cluster, collaborated with ISEP – Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, in promoting courses and job opportunities in the Mineral Resources Industry. On June 13th, Filstone – Comércio de Rochas, S.A. and CEI SOLUTIONS joined the initiative and welcomed 33 students and 4 teachers from the ISEP Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering course, for a study visit to the ISEP facilities and quarry. Filstone and CEI facilities. The visits provided young people with direct contact with the solutions and technological challenges of equipment in the ornamental stone sector, as well as closely monitoring the exploration and transformation of natural stone.

CNN PORTUGAL’S “MARCAS COM HISTÓRIA” PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS MINERAL RESOURCES CLUSTER

An episode of the documentary series Marcas com História, from CNN Portugal, was presented, with special emphasis on the Mineral Resources Cluster. Broadcast on CNN Portugal, it takes viewers on a fascinating journey through Portugal’s Mineral Resources sector. Taking place at the Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and built from natural stone, this episode, presented by Sara Sousa Pinto, explores the importance of mineral resources in Portugal, guided by the President of the Board of Directors of Cluster Minerais de Portugal , Luís Martins, and the Executive Director, Marta Peres. This episode highlights the importance of Mineral Resources in Portugal, how their use has evolved over the years, with the help and investment in technology, towards efficiency and sustainability. Prospective Study of the Marble Zone

The Cluster Mineral Resources, in partnership with ASSIMAGRA, developed the “Prospective Study of the Marble Zone,” which consists of three phases: This study serves as an essential tool for shaping the future Strategic Development Plan for the Alentejo Marble Zone.
